I love cabbage rolls, but I don’t like the time and hassle of actually making cabbage rolls. I found a quick one pot “unstuffed” cabbage roll recipe that is yummy and easy to do! Even better, it’s done in just under an hour!
“Unstuffed” Cabbage Rolls
1 lb ground beef
½ of a large onion, chopped
¼ small head of cabbage, chopped
1 14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes
4 ounces of tomato sauce
¼ cup water
1 glove of minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
Heat your skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet and crumble as it cooks. Add the onion and soften until the beef is cooked. Drain the grease.
Add tomatoes, sauce, water, garlic, salt, pepper and cabbage and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to a simmer for about 30 minutes. When the cabbage is tender it is ready to eat!
I served this with mashed potatoes.
PS: I’ve tried to post all pictures on the plates I inherited when I moved to college, but well, the dishes didn’t do themselves… disregard the rouge plate.
