Homemade Cranberry Sauce
1 orange
1 12 oz package of cranberries
1/2 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup of orange juice
1/2 cup of cranberry juice
In a saucepan over medium heat, add the juice, sugar, zest and flesh of an orange.
Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add the cranberries and cook until they pop. I continue cooking until all of the cranberries have burst. Turn off the heat and allow to cool. The cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
I make a day in advance so that it gels up and the orange flavor is infused.
